In 2021 we released our original Black Magic Speaker Cables, which were very well received for their unique design features, unusual construction, and highly musical sound.
We are now pleased to introduce our new White Magic Speaker Cable range.
At first, we thought building a speaker cable with White Magic wire might be impossible. The material sounded remarkable, but the practical challenges were significant. After a long development process, new wire sizes, and many prototypes, we finally solved it.
The new White Magic speaker cables use many of the design ideas first developed for Black Magic, including our “bad antenna” screening concept and carefully controlled cable symmetries. But this time, the signal path is not copper, silver, or any conventional high-end cable material. It is made from our White Magic wire.
The result is our best speaker cable range yet: more natural, more revealing, less colored, more flexible, and more affordable than the original Black Magic designs.
Each pair is handmade in New Zealand with great care, using our own materials, techniques, and listening-led development process.
For many systems, this will be the last speaker cable you’ll ever need to buy.
We offer two versions: White Magic Regular and White Magic Ultra.
White Magic Regular
White Magic Regular speaker cable uses 8 strands of White Magic wire per conductor, arranged inside a Teflon tube.
These cables outperform our previous Black Magic speaker cables by a handy margin. In general, White Magic cables are less colored, more dynamic and have better bass than copper cables.
White Magic Ultra
White Magic Ultra also uses 8 strands of White Magic wire per conductor, but each individual strand is placed inside its own tiny Teflon tube. This gives a construction similar in principle to Litz wire, with each strand separately insulated.
Ultra also uses a more advanced version of our “bad antenna” screening system, designed to reduce RF noise — both noise picked up by the cable, and noise radiated from it.
White Magic Ultra improves on the regular cable, being more dynamic, textured and with expanded soundstage, both wider and deeper.
Cable Options
Both Regular and Ultra are available in three configurations:
Standard — A standard pair of speaker cables.
Shotgun — Similar to two regular cables combined, with double the number of White Magic conductors. For high power systems or for those seeking the very best performance.
Bi-Wire —Two cable runs (like Shotgun) terminated with a single pair of connectors at the amplifier end, and two pairs of connectors at the speaker end.
Termination Options
You can specify banana plugs or spades at either end of the cable.
How do they sound?
The first thing you notice with White Magic speaker cables is the clarity—not an etched or artificial clarity, but the sense that a layer of haze has been removed.
The sound is uncolored, clean, fast and open, while remaining natural and full-bodied. Instruments and voices are easier to follow, complex passages stay organized, and the soundstage becomes wider and deeper. Bass is powerful and well controlled, the midrange has natural tone and presence, and the treble is extended without glare.
They are highly revealing, but do not push the sound at you. Instead, music flows with greater ease, scale and coherence—sounding less like hi-fi and more like music.
White Magic
The standard White Magic model gives the essential character of the range: clarity, natural tone, strong imaging and a spacious, involving presentation.
White Magic Ultra
Ultra takes these qualities further, with greater resolution, finer detail and a more three-dimensional soundstage. Images are more precisely defined, ambience is easier to hear, and there is a stronger sense of depth and space around performers.
Shotgun configuration
The Shotgun option increases conductor area by using two complete cable runs per channel. This brings greater dynamic impact, weight and authority, together with tighter, more controlled bass. The sound also gains scale and composure, particularly on demanding music and at higher volume levels.
Ultra and Shotgun provide different kinds of improvement: Ultra mainly adds resolution, refinement and dimensionality, while Shotgun adds power, dynamics and bass control. They can also be combined for the highest-performing version, White Magic Ultra Shotgun

Ordering
You can order with either spades or banana plugs. Both are copper. Please specify what type of connection you like on each end (so you can have spades on one end, bananas on the other, but you need to specify which end is the amplifier end as the cables are directional).
As these cables are made-to-order it can take several days to build and test a set of cables. When you order we will give you an estimate of how long they will take to build.

White Magic Jumpers
We also have speaker jumpers available. Uses the same White Magic wire as the speaker cables, and is hand-made so that half the strands run one direction, half the other (so they are not directional). This is the same technique used on the speaker cables..
You can order with spades or bananas, or a mix.
